This land I speak of no mortal eye can see. A land of plentiful dreams and fairytale creatures; like dragons, fairies, elves, nymphs and goblins too. These creatures are not afraid of ‘mortals’ at all; just cautious. But if you believe hard enough they may let you in on the biggest secret of all. In the pages that follow I can only give you a glimpse into their world. They are a peaceful, simple group of people, that was banished from our world by a King who hated the most wonderful dragon that ever lived. Drayco was his name and he was forced to fight his brother Jubaco in a battle not only for the land but for this world as well.
Now Drayco was once a faithful servant of King Reginald and they thrived in a grand castle until one day when Reginald’s brother Richard waged a war against them. Richard was a mean, greedy man who convinced Jubaco to join him in gaining a Kingdom. Greedy himself Jubaco agrees and begins plotting ways to make himself bigger and stronger than his brother. He sought out knowledge about spells that would kill or immobilize the opponent. Drayco was no match for his brother with those spells in his arsenal, and thus lost in under an hour. He was severely wounded and took many months to heal even with the best healers at his side day and night.
While he was recovering Drayco and his kind were banished from our realm. Richard took it upon himself to declare that if any “magical” creatures remained at the end of the year he would have them hunted and killed. Thus Myrdden created this alternate realm for all who believe in the fairy ways. Each creature with its own special powers, crossed over into ‘Nanugan’, which they named meaning pleasant. Once everyone was beyond the mist Myrdden gathered the strong of power to build a bridge that would allow access to this realm only to those that truly believed in the fairy ways. The bridge was marked with the symbol of the realm, a sun and moon together with mountains in the distance and wind blowing across the sun/moon and rain falling down.
As a child I was told of this magical kingdom, and dreamt of one day finding that bridge and crossing over into their realm and never returning.
